I had the 'eyetv 250' before the miglia tvmax, and it always jumbled up the closed captioning (it might have been just my unit though). Miglia tvmax gave slightly better quality, and additional mpeg-4/divx recording. They cost the same and even use the same software!! (Though future iteration of tvmax, called tvmax+ will use different software). Mpeg 2 takes just too much hard disc space for the same quality as mpeg-4/divx. For everyday recording & viewing purposes mpeg2 can fill up the hard disc very fast indeed, unless you keep on editing out commercials or use lower quality recordings.

Pros:It's got a sleek form factor that matches the Mac Mini. It's got a nice little controller for watching live TV.The picture is great, and it's easy to record what you're watching.Cons:It relies on a website (TitanTV) to do any decent viewing of TV schedules, and to set reminders of upcoming shows.The scheduling of shows was difficult,. Really just doesn't work. If something's on SOON or NOW, it records fine, but I setup 7 daily recordings, and it failed to record on any of them.Overall Review:Skip this product entirely. Good gracious, get something else. You can get a little cheapy adapter to watch tv with if that's what you want.
